In 2010 Rockdale Public School continued to provide excellent programs to support quality learning and develop effective citizens for the future. The school continued its commitment to preparing students to successfully meet the challenges of the 21st century in an inclusive multicultural society. The school's values of honesty, respect, cooperation, responsibility, fairness and excellence were prominent and visible daily in the learning and Student Wellbeing Programs and were exemplified by students, staff and the school community. Our teachers provided innovative programs and opportunities for students that allowed them to shine in different ways and to strive for excellence in their pursuits. In 2010 there was much to celebrate at Rockdale Public School. Student achievements extended across academic, sporting, musical, technological and social domains. In 2010 our most notable achievements included:

Best ever NAPLAN results
Sydney Region and Director-General's Award for School Achievement for quality programs
Completion of six new classrooms under the BER project and the construction of new play equipment
Superb Rockdale Rocks Concert
Selection by Sydney Region as an exemplar school in self-evaluation practices
A DET Learning for Sustainability award for its Environmental Education and Service Learning programs and initiatives.

I have much pride and appreciation for the talented teachers and thank them for all their tireless commitment to doing more and better each year for the children at Rockdale Public School. I would like to thank the parent body for their strong support of the school and its programs.

P&C President's Message

The Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is the parent body which acts in partnership with the principal and staff to improve our children's experience at school.

Here at Rockdale Public School, we welcome your involvement and invite you to join us. It's a great way to participate and get to know your children's school community. Not only do we raise much needed funds for the school, helping out sets an important example for your children.

Parents and carers who love hands-on work and are handy with useful skills can come along and support us during the year with the various activities run by the P&C Association. You are all most welcome and we invite you to come and join us.

School Council President's Message

The Rockdale Public School Council has a different role to that of the P&C. We are a forum for discussion about issues that are important to the whole school community. It's a wonderful way to connect with the teachers and staff of the school and help the students, particularly your children, and show that we care enough to do something.

Being on the School Council means we can provide the school with valuable insight from our point of view and we can shape the direction which the school takes during the year. Parents, carers and local community members can all have a say, facilitate solutions to problems and make the school a better place for everyone. We encourage you to point out what can be better and, more importantly, suggest how we can go about improving it. Your valuable contribution is much appreciated.
